A fantastic interpretation of my favorite Doctor. Nine doesn't get enough love, which kills me because he grew so much, from a broken survivor to a man who makes his peace with the world and dies to save Rose. He deserves all of the awards! After the raw anguish of Ten's regeneration into Eleven, Nine's dignified exit is beautiful to watch, imo.
While I ADORE 10 and 11...10 more than 11...Something about the darkness in this Doctor makes me love him. But then I re-watch his season and...No it's so much more than that. Before he met Rose he was such a broken, miserable, bitter being because of what he had to do to his home and people...And that's something no one should have to bear. This Doctor was merely surviving, but after he met Rose you could see traveling was fun for him again. He grew and changed SO much in a short amount of time...If it weren't for Rose, I don't think 10 would have been such an open Doctor when it came to emotions...I think it was the episode "The Empty Child" that made me realize this; when he shouted "EVERYBODY LIVES!" with that lovely manic smile and light in his eyes that was when it hit-he was finally moving on from his past, and able to truly live. Another episode that made me really love 9 was "Dalek"; that was the episode in which you can really see how dark he can become in seconds.
Nine was so awesome! Of course, he had moments where he was funny too.
I like the one scene in "The Empty Child" where he's in a club and he gets on the stage to ask about that object the TARDIS was chasing and everyone laughs and Nine's really confused and wonders "Did I say something funny?"
