Description
this is a custom figure a guy commissioned me to do of the snowman from the classic thundercats cartoon series.
he basically wanted me to take his vintage snowman figure a lot taller (20cm) as the actual figure was too small in comparison to the other official figures.
to do this i had to lengthen his legs using the lower body & upper legs from a ken doll. i then attached his feet to the bottom of the legs.
at this stage the figure looked very tall & skinny so i had to then bulk him out a lot.
i started off by taking his arms off & making his shoulders a lot broader. my client did not want the figure to have any points of articulation so this made the process a little easier.
i then bulked out his bdy using tin foil & covered it using a modeling product called fixit sculpt.
once all the sculpting was done i then had to repaint the entire figure to make him look more cartoon accurate.
to finish him off i made him a spear to look like the one he had in the cartoon & painted his shield white.
there was quite a lot of work involved in this one but i have to admit i am really pleased with how he turned out.
i just wish i had taken some before pictures & also measured how tall the original showman figure was before i started work on him.
but here is a picture i found of the original figure online, i know he is wearing his helmet but at least it shows what height he was compared to the other figures. www.toysfromthepast.co.uk/Trev…
