Deviation Actions
Description
This is a custom figure I made of a Klingon to fit in with the style of the vintage Masters of the Universe action figures from the 80’s.
To Make him I used the head & body of a Jitsu figure www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&…
& the arms of a He-Man figure vintageactionfigures.com/wp-co…
I started by removing Jitsu’s head & arms. I replaced his arms with those from the He-Man figure & then started trimming off the bulk of his hair with a sharp craft knife making sure not to cut right through leaving any holes in his head. I then sanded off his head to make the plastic very thin (this would make it easier when it came to rooting his hair).
After that I sculpted his Klingon head details, the design around his neck & chest & the points on his boots using a product called ‘Fixit Sculpt’.
Once the sculpt had set I then painted the figure using Humbrol enamel paints.
Next I rooted his hair using brown nylon doll hair. Once the rooting was complete I then braided his hair into small braids. I then poured boiling water over the braids & ran them under a cold tap. I then undid all the braids which left him with a crimped Klingon hair texture.
I then got the vest from a vintage Prince Adam figure & drew around it onto paper to make a template to make my Klingon vest & also to make sure it fitted him perfectly. I made some adjustments to the template to make it more klingon looking & cut the shape out onto some grey faux leather fabric. Next I got some grey electrical wire & self adhesive craft jewels which I added to his vest for details. Originally I was going to give him black faux fur sleeves but they looked way too chunky so I decided to just add a small fur trim around the arm holes of his vest instead.
For his belt I got an old silver plastic shampoo bottle which I then cut out the shape of his Klingon buckle. I then punched 5 small circle shapes into the back of the buckle using a blunt darning needle. After that I attached the buckle to some black 60mm elastic & stitched it together at the back.
I then made him a sash from some silver glittery stretch fabric.
To finish him off, I gave him a bat’leth from a Playmates Sisko Klingon figure seen here s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/o…
His articulation points are his head, arms, legs. he also has He-Mans iconic 'Power Punch' waist action & Jitsu's arm chop action which is ideal for swiping his bat'leth.
